Hypnotic Accelerated Learning H.A.L.? We now have documented physical, mental and emotional techniques that are designed to establish an optimal state of learning. Hypnotic Accelerated Learning is guided self-hypnosis. You will learn to identify types of music that naturally induce alpha-brainwave activity, such as Baroque largo and adagio pieces. I will create a custom recording that enables you to develop a photographic memory or to commit to memory a specific body of information so that you may pass an exam or perform. Studies show that long-term memory takes place when the body is most relaxed and the mind is most alert. H.A.L. incorporates 60-beat music that matches relaxed brainwave activity, Autogenics, mental clarity visualization, joyful memory anchoring, learning affirmations, and fifteen minutes of rhythmic pacing of educational data. What is Autogenics? Auto means self and genics means generated: i.e., self-generated. I will offer you a statement about a part of your body relaxing, such as "Your left foot feels heavy and relaxed." You then repeat the statement out-loud and wait a few seconds to see whether your left foot has received the brain's instruction to feel more relaxed and heavier. If you don't feel that body part respond within the next breath, you would then repeat the statement (out loud) and again wait for a physical reaction. Once that part of the body responds, you would let me know by lifting your index finger as a signal. I would then move on to the next successive part, such as your left leg. People relax in their own unique way. You would need to let me know what feels most natural, i.e., to relax from your feet to your head or from your head to your feet. Then we would repeat the process, substituting coolness or warmth for lightness or heaviness. Breathing in patterns increases the oxygen flow to the brain and helps you to synchronize your brains? left and right hemispheres. I will instruct you to slowly inhale as I count from one to four and explain that you should hold your breath as I count to four again and then to slowly exhale as I count to four a third time. I will repeat the whole process three times. Different types of music create different states of mental activity. Music can be used to expand memory, energize the mind, and connect to the subconscious. Here is a list of some of the pieces that I have found to me most effective: Vivaldi Largo from 'Winter' from The Four Seasons Largo from Double Fantasia in G Major for Harpsichord Bach, J.S.Largo from Harpsichord Concert in F Minor, BWV 1056 Largo from Concerto No. 10 in F Major from Twelve Concerti Grossi, Opus 5 AlvinoniAdagio in G Minor for Strings CaudiosoLargo from Concerto for Mandolin and Strings PachalbelCanon in D The strongest emotional stimulus is joy. Peak performance is achievable when joy is combined with whole brain integration, sensory recall, and imagination. Accelerated learning enhances mental and physical health overall. Information is most easily assimilated when listened to in a paced, rhythmic fashion. If you are seeking accelerated learning, prepare to book at least ten sessions to develop optimum, long-term memory. Seven minutes of read material is memorized at a time. It takes ten repetitions to commit the first course of material to memory. The second course of memory may require only fives repetitions; the third only three, the fourth only two, etc. More specifically, you need to allow yourself adequate time to listen to your accelerated learning audio tape or CD at least nine times or until you have complete recall of the material before coming in again. You will probably only need to listen to the third tape three or four times to achieve complete recall and only a couple of times for the fourth tape. After the fourth tape, most clients are able to achieve complete recall with only one or two successive plays of the tape. If you are are under the gun to meet a deadline for a test or a performance, you may want to book more than one session per day provided you are able to play your tape sufficiently to acquire complete recall in between sessions. The key to H.A.L. is a relaxed body and an alert mind. Sometimes, especially in the case of children, the client does not find it easy to lie still and listen to the tape. In such a case, I recommend that the client walk in a figure-eight configuration while listening to the tape. The figure eight replicates the nerve pattern at the base of the brain. Most clients find it even more effective to inhale an aroma while studying. The scent of lemon essential oil produces a natural state of relaxed body and alert mind. If you need H.A.L. for testing or performing, you can dab a little lemon on your hands to inhale as needed to prompt the memorized material. Nearly everyone can benefit from working with the Hypnotic Accelerated Learning techniques: students from preschool to college, clients who need to quickly assimilate a foreign language, athletes, clients who are updating their employment skills, especially new computer programs, game show contestants, those who have been impaired by dyslexia, ADD, clients who suffer from adoption issues, and clients who need stress reduction. Affirmations are tricky. The subconscious mind operates through the language of feelings, not words. If you desperately cling to and repeat an affirmation, you send a powerful message into your subconscious mind that you are terrified that the opposite is true. The subconscious mind interprets these feelings as your desire to create the experience that is charged full of fear. The subconscious mind does not judge some feelings as positive and others as negatives ... they are just feelings ... a set of instructions. Dr. Kenneth Parker, a professor at Queens College in New York, showed his students an affirmation through a tachistoscope that enabled them to remember more of what they had learned compared to a control group not shown the message. The affirmation was so effective that when tested five years later, tests showed that the students had retained what they had learned. It was only then that Dr. Parker revealed the powerful affirmation when he published his findings. This remarkable affirmation will be utilized to reinforce your long-term memory. Here is a list of affirmations that I have found to work really well. Notice any that strongly attract you and we will be sure to include them as part of our sessions: I release myself from my past performance. Learning is easy for me. Remembering is easy for me. My mind knows the answer. I only need to read this once. I store the information I need in a way that I can easily retrieve it when I need it. Affirmations for tests, exams, interviews, or auditions: I remember everything I need to know. I recognize the right answer at the right time. I have all the time I need. I concentrate easily from beginning to end.
